Sunset  under the Backyard Tree

Photo of the Day 190/366

Edited with Afterlight

I shot this photo last evening. I wanted to catch the waning sunset sky but with something a little different. As I was walking by the neighbor’s farm, I noticed the tree in their backyard. I did my best to position myself so that the tree framed the sunset and the clouds that seemed to fill in the empty space. I like this one.

Power Lines above the Corn Field

Monday Monochrome:  This photo, taken from my archives, was shot near my previous home. It was taken on cloudy summer day. I remember it was hot, but (as I do now) I needed to walk anyway, and, as usual, had my camera (or my phone) for photos.  This scene caught my eye with the symmetry of the power lines over the cacophony of the corn shocks underneath – and the whole thing in monochrome added to  the “dark” feeling of the photo.

Just a guy with interests in photography, karate, and (sigh) work. I post one of my photos and a quote every day. I like to make a beautiful dent in the the negativity of social media. The photos are mine, so please don't reuse without permission. I hope you enjoy!
