Sunset Fire through the Trees

Photo of the Day 48/365

This photo was taken earlier this winter near the campus where I work. The sunset was an awesome sight above the railroad tracks. I did take a few shots with the tracks but I wanted to get a photo that emphasized the fire in the sky. This photo needed some editing as the sky washed out due to the dark trees so it took a bit of work. But now this photo truly represents what I saw that evening.

One Candle can Light the Way

Images Exposed Daily Photo Challenge

Monday Fill-the-Frame: This photo was taken at our Christmas Eve Service. I got a close-up of my wife’s hand holding the candle during the final singing song of the service “Silent Night”. These services always bring a sense of nostalgia in our modern, digital world. This photo of a single candle holds many memories of the past and hope for the future, in it’s light.

Just a guy with interests in photography, karate, and (sigh) work. I post one of my photos and a quote every day. I like to make a beautiful dent in the the negativity of social media. The photos are mine, so please don't reuse without permission. I hope you enjoy!
