Time to get on with with posting, I was a bit absent, sorry for that.
So we were on the way in our longboat. On the way to the first temple. Wat saam prasob is one of the sunken temples in sangklaburi.
In 1920 the goverment decided to build a dam in the area and the city of Sangklaburi had to be moved upwards. The lake is a reservoir with the old city underneath it. Sometimes when the waterlevel is low you can see some parts of it. This temple is the biggest one and we were lucky that we could visit it.
When the level of the lake is high, you just can see the top of this tower coming out of the water.
We could not walk up to the tower it was to muddy and still surrounded by water.
Wow thats amazing that all of that is usually under water!! What a structure that can withstand being under the water. Thanks for sharing this was very interesting Thanks for the tour
Interesting that it is still erect eventhough it’s submerged more often than not. Thanks for the tour.
You can see the damage. And some repairs are done to keep it standing
