Like many rural and/or remote areas in the world Skye has its share of abandoned houses, structures and vehicles. Often the young folk move away to better opportunities or just want more modern accommodation leaving the family home behind to rot.
Vestiges of interiors remain…
This was once a lovely home, crying out now for some tlc.
And then there were the Iron Age folk who once inhabited this approximately 3,000-year-old tower…
Sheep wander by the entrance to the tower.
The old post office
A very dead truck sits beside a very dead utility shed.
Glad you have documented this place and what remains – it’s so important. I am fascinated with stone structures and appreciate seeing them, in whatever state they exist.
Thanks for taking us along. Sad to see how abandoned this location has become.
Seen a few of those abandoned buildings, when there. Lovely captures
