The Bauta mask, the most popular mask during the Venetian Carnaval. In fact the mask is way older than the carnaval is. What makes it popular is that you can drink and eat without taking it off.
In time back it was used to go to a rendez vous or if you were famous that you could walk the streets without being recognized. It even played a political role. By voting many hide their indentity, the mask is allowed by law.
For me it is a nice subject to photograph. The weather is rainy so I had some fun with it.
