Sun Setting Behind a Tree

Photo of the Day 108/366

I took this photo a few days ago while out hunting for a sunset. I found this scene and pulled off the road. I had to walk a distance once I was safely off the road, but it was worth it. The sun hadn’t set yet, but I was able to move such that I could position the sun behind the tree branches. I should have moved a little to the left to get it between the branches but it was so bright that it was blinding me and I thought this shot was good enough for me.

Plants in the Water

Images Exposed Daily Photo Challenge

Wednesday Nature: This photo was taken some years ago at a local State Park’s lake. I was meandering about when I noticed the water reflecting the darkening skies. The water contrasted with the green plants and the singular bright yellow leaf trapped amongst the greenery. I liked the image and the colors. While I’m not thrilled with the composition, the only way to fix it was to change the plants and/or get in the water. Neither option was acceptable so this is what I got – I still like it.

Just a guy with interests in photography, karate, and (sigh) work. I post one of my photos and a quote every day. I like to make a beautiful dent in the the negativity of social media. The photos are mine, so please don't reuse without permission. I hope you enjoy!
