Cannon Beach is on the coast of Oregon, part of the town of Cannon Beach. It’s a great beach for walking, though not so great for sunbathing as it’s often misty and grey there. It’s dominated by Haystack Rock, which is known as a nesting place for puffins and other birds. When the tide is really low you can walk out to the big rock and the smaller rocks around it.
The rock is a story in itself, but the people there are also fun to watch. These shots are from a couple of chilly August days.
Nice series. Myself I not use the captions. They cover to much of the photo on mobile view
Thanks for the tip, Peter. I wasn’t aware of that. I’ve removed the captions, and now I see the series didn’t need them anyway.
Doesn’t look warm enough to get in but definitely nice captures and beautiful view.
Thanks, Camellia! From what Tom T. says below, it’s probably rare to be warm enough to get in.
Its always cool on the Oregon Coast Tom. You go there and deal with it or you go there and freeze and be miserable. or you go there enough and the temp just does not bother you haha Fantastic set love the little carts, have not seen them in ages, of maybe its because I go there off season hahah That last photo is usually the way the coast is
“That last photo is usually the way the coast is” – it was pretty grey when I was there (2012), too. I brightened up all of the shots a bit except the last one, because otherwise they all would have been almost monochromatic. I tried make the people stand out a bit without making it look like a sunny Florida beach.
Welll it was a nice set, even if it was cloudy cool Oregon Coast 🙂
Nice series, Tom! Was that fog in the last photo?
